HydraDNAPromotes and increases skin hydration
Highly Polymerized DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID
INCI Name Sodium DNA
Trade Name HydraDNA
ORIGIN
NATURAL AND MARINE ORIGIN
Extracted from salmon milt in strict conditions in order to preserve the properties of this fundamental polymer.
ASPECT
White to cream-white fibers, measuring several cm long.
SOLUBILITY
Fibers are relatively soluble in water, forming a gel at low concentrations (1.0 to 3.0 %).
Insoluble in alcohol, acetone, ether and other organic solvents.
TYPICAL ANALYSIS
Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Deoxyribose, Sodium.
OBLIGATORY PARAMETERS OF QUALITY
• Equality of nucleic bases: (A/T), (G/C), [(A+G)/(T+C)] ratios about 1,
• High degree of polymerization by Size Exclusion Chromatography and Light Scattering Detector
• UV absorption, hyperchromicity: 30.0 to 50.0 %.
PROPERTIES*
• The HydraDNA molecule is sufficiently long/fine/small so that it can penetrate the intercellular space thus promoting and increasing skin hydration by carrying 10,000 times its own weight in water.
• HydraDNA is unlike other “hydration” products in that most are just film forming.
COSMETIC USES
• Hydration products
• Hydro defense products
• Wrinkle preventing products
TYPICAL CONCENTRATION
0.25 to 1.0 % (w/v) in creams or 2.0 to 3.0 % in aqueous gels.
