> ArgiDNA

A Clever Photo Protection Active

Arginine carried by Highly Polymerized DNA

INCI Name arginine DNA
Trade Name
Arg DNA

ORIGIN
NATURAL AND MARINE ORIGIN
Extracted from salmon milt in strict conditions in order to preserve the properties of this fundamental polymer.

ASPECT
White to cream-white fibers, measuring several cm long.

SOLUBILITY
Fibers are relatively soluble in water, forming a gel at low concentrations (1.0 to 3.0 %).
Insoluble in alcohol, acetone, ether and other organic solvents.

TYPICAL ANALYSIS
Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Deoxyribose, Arginine.

OBLIGATORY PARAMETERS OF QUALITY
• Equality of nucleic bases: (A/T), (G/C), [(A+G)/(T+C)] ratios about 1,
• High degree of polymerization by Size Exclusion Chromatography and Light Scattering Detector
• UV absorption, hyperchromicity: 30.0 to 50.0 %.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES*
• Diminishes the photo induced lesions to DNA cells
• Diminishes free radical aggression
• ArgiDNA is not a sun filter but does absorb those long wavelengths that destroy DNA cells. This destruction is augmented by the fact that the current state of the ozone layer is not fulfilling its role as a filter to these dangerous solar rays.
• ArgiDNA thus reduces the photo induced lesions to DNA cells in the skin.

COSMETIC USES
• General daily protection
• Sun care products
• Anti aging products

TYPICAL CONCENTRATION
0.25 to 1.0 % (w/v) in creams or 2.0 to 3.0 % in aqueous gels.
