New glycoprotein : the most precious protein of elastic tissue

A non collagenic glycoprotein; it is a major constituent of microfibrils and is associated or not associated with elastin. It plays both a functional and structural role in the elasticity of tissue. Fibrillin is modified with the aging process during which a new structure of microfibrils is observed.
